Yamamoto-Scheffelin Dissertation Award
The Yamamoto-Scheffelin Dissertation Award honors a recent School of Public Policy PhD graduate whose dissertation demonstrates exceptional scholarly excellence and international policy relevance. Past recipients have explored some of the world’s most pressing challenges—from nuclear proliferation to climate change. Established in 2012 by Marianna Yamamoto, PhD ’07, and Cliff Yamamoto, the award celebrates research that advances understanding of global challenges while honoring the legacy of Japanese Americans—including the Chagami brothers of Hawaii—who served their country during World War II.
